Carbquik Biscuits | Better than real biscuits

Man, there is nothing like a delicious biscuit with melted butter on top.

If that sounds too plain for you, what about a sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit that is steaming hot?

Sadly, if you are on this page you can’t eat those biscuits like you used to (no pun intended), and are looking for a slamming replacement that tastes like the ” real deal”.

None of that almond flour or  coconut flour for hipsters will do you for.

That is where Carbquik baking mix comes into play.

Carbquik baking mix is perfect for making biscuits..better than flour is at making biscuits. That is a huge claim, but I actually prefer the taste of the carbquik. Maybe it is because I have been on a low carb diet for too long!

The texture if very similar to regular flour.

You will then add water.

That is it!

Below is what the carbquik biscuit dough will look like. I am not the best biscuit mixer around….

Put in the oven for 10-15 Minutes and you get delicious biscuits created with carbquik!

Notice how the texture is very similar to a “regular biscuit. That is because it is! This is almost an exact emulation. If you eat too many of them it can cause problems in certain areas…

The biscuit doesn’t brown as easily as what you would get with regular flour. Don’t sweat about this as it does not detract away from the flavor.

How do I cook with Carbquik?

When cooking with Carbquik you have to watch out for a couple of issues.

Carbquik turns dark much faster, so if you are using it as a coating to fry foods with, you have to adjust the heat to cook a little longer at a lower temp.

2. If you are using carbquik this to thicken soups or sauces, you will need 2-3 times the amount of carbquik baking mix.

Carbquick can be pretty bland when using for a beer batter or breading. I conquer this by adding seasoning before cooking.

Where can I buy Carbquik?

The best place to buy carbquik for making biscuits, pizza, and other recipes is Amazon! You can also find it at Walmart, but only select ones. Why waste your time in a goose chase?

You may be able to find carbquik in stores, but I would not count on it without wasting your precious Sunday.

Why is Carbquik not Keto?

Carbquik contains wheat, and may kick you of of ketosis due to the high total carbs. Some people will be able to digest carbquik where it does not affect ketone levels, but some will not be able to tolerate the spike.

What is carbquik to bisquick ratio?

You can exchange bisquick for carbquik  a 1:1 basis. This of course depends on the reicipe that you are utilizing and different moisture content with the ingredients may throw off the texture.

Carbquik doesn’t absorb as much oil from say sausage and cheese, and it won’t have the exact texture and flakiness.

What is Carbquik made out of?

Carbquik is made out of carbalose flour. Carbalose is a revolutionary new flour that can be used in place of wheat flour but contains 80% less carbs. Use like regular flour in most recipes. Carbalose is as close to real flour as you can get without being real flour.
