Halle Berry, a timeless beauty at the age of 51, rocks a hot bod and a wrinkle-free face. What is her secret elixir of youth?
Does she have a plastic surgeon? Starve herself to maintain a size 2 pant size? Take anti-aging pills?
Nope, she does something natural and doable for everyday women like you and me.
She follows A ketogenic diet. If you are new to the keto diet, start here with the ultimate guide to a keto diet.
You heard that right. The timeless beauty stays young by following the Halle Berry Keto Diet.
The premise of a keto diet is a high fat, low carbohydrate diet, with moderate protein. Your diet is made of things such as coconut oil, eggs, cheese, butter, steak, olives, and lots of low carb vegetables.
In simplistic terms, when you lower carbs, it puts your body in a different metabolic state called ketosis.
Ketosis is when your body is burning fat for fuel and not glucose. Your body, when in the state of ketosis, can also tap into fat stores much easier. Some added benefits that help weight loss, are reduced appetite and no sugar cravings! These benefits then lead to eating fewer calories with ease.

Below is what Halle Berry Tweeted January 28th 2018 about the Keto diet:
“Today let’s talk about food. I think the most important part of being healthy and in great shape largely depends on what and when you eat. Being diabetic or most of my life, I have always had to take food very seriously.
So for years, I have been following the keto or ketogenic diet. I hate the word “diet” so while you’ll see the word diet, just know I encourage you to think of it as a lifestyle change NOT A DIET! Keto is a very low-carb food plan which actually forces your body to burn fat like crazy.
I also believe it’s been largely responsible for slowing down my aging process.
The keto lifestyle offers so many benefits such as weight loss, (moms that’s how we get rid of our baby bellies), appetite control, more energy and better mental performance. If you’re like me, you can possibly reverse type 2 diabetes, you’ll experience better physical endurance, better skin and also less acne if that’s an issue.
And it even helps control migraines! I’m sharing two links (check Stories!) that will explain the lifestyle in detail and it also offers a plan to help you get started! So today I encourage you to say yes to keto, give it a try… what do you have to lose?! ” ~ Halle Berry
How does the Keto diet slow down aging?
There are several reasons the keto diet slows down aging.
The first reason is it cuts out all sugar. Sugar has been shown to increase aging because it increases “AGEs” ( no pun intended..) and decreases Human Growth Hormone.
With the accumulation of AGEs, structural changes in the skin can occur, resulting in increased stiffness and reduced elasticity.
Rhytides, sagging of skin, and loss of elasticity are all related to changes in the collagen and elastic fibers of the skin
Ingestion of sugar, in particular, can accelerate these signs of aging, as it promotes cross-linking of collagen fibers.
Because you cannot repair cross-links caused by the accumulation of AGEs, dietary prevention becomes very important early on in life.
Sugar also reduces human growth hormone .
A study published in the New England Journal Of Medicine by Daniel Rudman, M.D, showed that even tiny amounts of the growth hormone produced miraculous events, in only six months!
The elderly men’s lean body mass increased by 8.8 percent, body fat decreased by 14.2 percent, and bone density increased in the lumbar spinal bones, and skin thickness increased by 7.1 percent. The elderly men also did not begin to exercise or change their diets.
It’s the everlasting fountain of youth. Except, how do you gain access to this ever-fountain of youth?
Well, you can’t, it is not released to the public and comes with a whole variety of symptoms.
What you can do, is you can stimulate your body to produce more HGH through natural ways. Some of the Factors that increase HGH
- Decreased blood glucose levels
- Stage IV sleep ( which is increased by keto)
- Carbohydrate-restricted diet.
Yup, reduce your carbs, increase fat, sleep more, intermittent fasting, and exercise. When exercising, it seems that resistance training is the most effective in promoting HGH, because your body needs to repair muscle tissue through HGH. This is the primary benefit of exercise, and not weight loss as so many people believe.
