Keto Pork Rinds

Pork rinds are fried or roasted skin of a pig. The pork skins  are high in fat and protein and have zero carbs which make them a great Keto-Approved snack.

They are affordable, delicious, and can be used in many recipes as a replacement for bread crumbs.

Despite pork rinds being notoriously low in carbs not all pork rinds are keto-approved. Manufacturers often add fillers and MSG to “enhance” the flavor.

Grab some queso, nachos, movie night, sour cream and onion for the perfect keto crunchy snack.

Best Keto Pork Rinds for a Low Carb Diet

Keto Epic Pork Rinds

Epic puts a spin on pork skins by creating innovative culinary techniques. They use premium ingredients that are low carb, and deliver a rich flavor or pork fats.

The flavors include Maple Bacon, Chili Lime, Himalyan Salt,  and BBQ. They have a more traditional flavor and will remind you of the pork skins your grandma used to make. The maple bacon is my favorite flavor due to the interesting contrast between sweet and salty flavor.

These keto pork rinds are light, crispy, crunchy pork chips. Very spicy with the black pepper and not too salty. Nor are they greasy. And unlike the cheap, over processed rinds, these have a rich pork taste.

These have about 40% less fat which is not ideal for the ketogenic diet but won’t kick you out of ketosis.

Pork Clouds

Low Carb Pork Clouds in a White Bag

Pork Cloud is kettle-cooked in olive oil and comes with 12g protein per bag.The best selling point of pork clouds is that it’s fried 100% non-GMO olive oil. They are also hand-cooked, hand-stirred, and hand-seasoned.

These pork rinds  come in the flavors of  Rosemary, Habanero, Garlic, Black Pepper, and Cinnamon. The black pepper pork skin is ONLY black pepper and salt which makes it healthy and safe for a low carb diet. The habanero is very hot and the cinnamon flavor has a little bit of extra sugar.

The rosemary and sea salt was mild and the closest to plain pork rinds. The Malabar pepper is distinctly peppery and has a very nice bite with some black pepper type heat. I was a little bit worried about the Habanero but it was wonderful. The Habanero has some nice delayed heat but by no means is it overly hot as one would think habaneros would be. It actually turned out to be my favorite.

 Pork Panko

Pork Panko Red and White Bag

Pork Panko is by far the best substitute for breadcrumbs that you can find on the internet. With the only two ingredients being rock salt and porkin skins you can rest assured that you’re not getting any extra fillers such as MSG and maltodextrin.

I also like to use it with things I make in my frying pan  like Pork Schnitzel or traditional Japanese “Katsu” dishes. There is no after taste. Additionally they have a ton of delicious recipes that can be found in low carb recipe section.
